Make a weekend of it
Things To Do
It's Labor Day weekend in the Rockies. Here's how to fill the hours before (and recover after) the party.
Paddle Lake Dillon
Rent a kayak, SUP or pontoon at the Dillon or Frisco marinas. Gorgeous peaks, chilly water.
Hike
Try Ptarmigan Peak or the Willow Creek trails right from town. Lungs not ready? The Blue River trail is flat and lovely.
Bike the Rec Path
Summit County's paved path connects Dillon, Frisco, Keystone and Breck. Ride downhill, bus back up. Genius.
Outlets at Silverthorne
Three villages of outlet stores, right by the hotels. Buy that sparkly party outfit.
Breweries & Distilleries
Angry James Brewing in Silverthorne, Dillon Dam Brewery and Breckenridge Distillery nearby.
Breckenridge Day Trip
Historic Main Street, the free gondola, and the Isak Heartstone troll. 25 minutes away.
Dillon Amphitheater
Lakeside concerts all summer — check the schedule for Labor Day weekend shows.
Fly Fishing
The Blue River runs right through town and is Gold Medal water. Local outfitters offer guided trips.
